Ink Additives

Ink Additives

We carry a large selection of additives that complement our line of premium pad printing inks. From pretreatment and retarder paste to thinners and hardeners, along with anti-wear and extender base, our ink additives can greatly enhance print quality and resistance.

Extender Base

Used to reduce pigmentation and therefore cost when the nature of the pad printing job permits and is also recommended in screen printing to adjust pigmentation.

MP2000-40

Mixing Ratio: 10% by weight of the color base.

Hardener

Generally used when seeking maximum adhesion and chemical resistance. This hardener is for use in an open ink well system. When using a sealed ink cup, the Flexible Hardener (MP2000-51) should be used instead.

MP2000-41

Mixing Ratio: 15% by weight of the color base.
Before Use: Allow 10-20 minutes after mixing.
Pot Life of Mixture:  More than 12 hours at room temperature, 20°C (68°F). Life of the ink mixture may be extended by refrigeration.
When Printing: Room temperature should be no lower than 16°C (61°F)4

Flexible Hardener

This hardener also enhances adhesion and chemical resistance with the added feature of flexibility of the cured ink. Suggested usage is on flexible substrates to reduce the possibility of the ink cracking. This hardener should be used on a closed ink cup system.

MP2000-51

Anti-Wear Base

Greatly enhances resistance to abrasion and rubbing.

MP2000-56

Mixing Ratio: 10% by weight of the color base.

Retarder Paste

Greatly enhances the print quality by eliminating static which causes cob webbing. Also maintains the viscosity of the ink mixture.

MP2000-58

Mixing Ratio: 10% by weight of the color base.

Leveling Additive

Enhances ink leveling on high-tension surfaces which prevents bubbling, pinholes, and other surface defects.

MP2000-88

Mixing Ratio: Refer to the Thinner Mixing Guide. May be used in combination with MP2000-101 Thinner and/or MP2000-102 Retarder Liquid.

Pretreatment

Used to clean and pre-treat Polypropylene high-tension surfaces prior to printing.
